Board member appointed to rights commission

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn has appointed Patricia Bakalis Yadgir, B.A. ’85, M.S.Ed. ’88, to the Illinois Human Rights Commission, an organization dedicated to promoting freedom from unlawful discrimination as defined by the Illinois Human Rights Act.

Yadgir has over 20 years of experience as a school counselor at the elementary and higher education levels, and has taught in early childhood and higher education. She currently serves as executive director of student services for American Quality Schools, a not-for-profit educational management company that operates charter schools in the Midwest. She also serves her alma mater as a member of the NIU Alumni Association Board of Directors.
