A native of Plainfield, Ill., Wysocki is familiar with weather in the Midwest, having previous experience in several television markets in Nebraska. He has also worked as an on-air meteorologist with the nationally syndicated service WeatherNation, providing forecasts throughout the country.
Wysocki earned his bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University in 1992 and has been certified by the American Meteorological Society since 1996.
This profession is a dream come true for him.
“Ever since I was 7, I knew I wanted to be a meteorologist,” he said. “The way the weather can change so quickly has always fascinated me.”
Wysocki has had his fair share of severe weather experiences, covering major blizzards, as well as an F4 tornado that severely damaged the town of Hallam, Neb.
An outdoor enthusiast, Wysocki is a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, an avid golfer and a tennis player.
“If I’m not at work, I’m outside,” he said. “Hiking, biking. The outdoors is a meteorologist’s natural habitat.”
